Somebody That I Used To Know...

Ya tenia un rato que por cuestiones de tiempo no podia postear :( pero prometo estar de regreso y masivamente jejeje :D.

Hoy les traigo una canción que simplemente es

I-n-c-r-e-i-b-l-e

ya tenia algun tiempo que no me emocionaba tanto escuchar una canción TAN buena.


Tiene todo lo que una canción a trascender puede pedir: una GRAN lirica, muy buenos contrastes (hablo de los sonidos de agua como marimba al inicio y después el acompañamiento de la guitarra cuando sube de tono la voz...), una evolución esquisita, un climax, la contribución Kimbra corta pero sublime y por ultimo un final contundente... Uff!! Me encanta!!! No se por que solo por algunos momentos me hace pensar en Peter Gabriel (sin ofensas al MAESTRO pero escuchen el tono de voz...).

Por todo esto y directamente de Gotye un artista australiano/belga (hell yeah!)  #oudaysong va para:

Part of my shallowness is my huge addiction to american TV series, today as a good lazy Sunday I was having a small marathon of Dr. House, still on the second season because as many of the series I like I have no temporality of events so to avoid gaps I need to re-watch all series... OK, to stop digressing here, I remembered how good is "Massive Attack"as usual these bands get famous because some series, movie or advert uses a song and boom! You have a popular band. Es de los Grupos que me dan muchas ganas de ver en vivo y espero algun día hacerlo. Sus canciones ponen de buen humor.

Monday, a day that personally I have learnt to love, there is renovation in the end, like the beginning of new things. I like the music when it talks to me, not because is the best band in the world (according to erudites that are normally full of crap!), I like a song when it talks to me and makes me hold on to the feeling that at that particular time I am experiencing. No quedándose atrás en el ámbito de las que simplemente tienen punch, les comparto una razón fuerte por no perder de vista a Moby y tal vez darle una oportunidad en #CC2011 y brincar con esta canción. Del disco "Hotel" #ourdaysong

Lo más interesante de Moby (muy a mi punto de vista) es que se pensaría que en presentaciones en vivo subiría al escenario solamente a mezclar; cuando realmente toca la guitarra (y algunos otros instrumentos), graba en el momento su voz y mezcla precisamente lo que acaba de interpretar en vivo.

Con un inicio contundente y definido sobre los propósitos de la lírica de la canción (y la poderosa voz de  Luke Jenner entonando “Sail… sail away with you… Stay… gonna stay with you…” Ufff!!!!)

Saturday morning calls for a poppy and upbeat song. Today's song is a single that made the No. 1 singles chart in 2010 and currently holds a record of some kind for being on the chart for a long time, I am talking about the londoner rapper "Example".

This song was everywhere (literally everywhere) you went to Tesco (supermarket) there was Example playing, the mall, clubs, posh pubs, your friends flat, the gym, and my personal favourite VO5 shampoo advert! Aye that is correct, there is an advert for VO5 shampoo that is currently in the british telly that uses the song as soundtrack, the advert is rubbish but the song gives a fresh morning start feeling. Continuando con la línea del buen rock independiente ingles, esta entrada pertenece a una banda que bien vale la pena divulgar: Mumford And Sons. Pude acercarme a ella precisamente por su productor, Marcus Dravs quien estuviese a cargo también del disco The Suburbs de Arcade Fire.

Originally from Sheffield, England, these four lads are really talented. The Arctic Monkeys have it all, style, lyrics and Alex Turner's particular voice and crazy mind (he talks and thinks like he's always high). Their latest album "Suck it and see" sounds to my particular point of view a bit pop-ish, unlike the previous ones, not my favourite but probably that deserves a later post. Our day song today is "Cornerstone" from 2009 album 'Humbug'. Enjoy ladies and gentlemen.

I will start today with an 'oldie', I call it 'oldie' since it was everywhere in the UK radio last summer. Biffy Clyro is a Scottish band whose origins trace back to 1995. It wasn't till 2009 that their album "Only Revolutions" came to be a famous one and now the US loves them. Our day song is called "Bubbles", possibly everybody has heard of this band since "Many of horror" was part of the Transformers 3 movie soundtrack, but they are still good anyway.

Hoy tocará un post tempranero ya que seguramente el día  de hoy sera muuuy largo.

Conocí a Everlast precisamente con este sencillo y debido a  mi gusto secreto hacia el Hip-Hop y Rap.

La estructura de la canción (muy a mi punto de vista) es muy muy buena pero no solo eso, si no que le impregna un toque de blues con la guitarra  que hace que la canción torne otro giro y olvidas por un momento que es Rap/Hip-Hop lo que estas escuchando (caracteristica que en discos futuros lo convierte como sello propio de Everlast).

El día de hoy desde que amaneció definitivamente fue un día de "oldies". Lo particular fue que precisamente el reproductor portátil de música lanzo mucha balada soul y un poco de funk (entre otras cosas, claro).

Estaba por postear un "oldie but goodie" cuando en el ultimo momento, rumbo a casa y casi al terminar el día, llegó #ourdaysong...

Time to pretend

MGMT es una banda gringa de Rock psicodélico que hace alusión a vivir el hoy y chingue su madre, aunque en realidad la vida es como una moneda con dos caras, una en la que se puede vivir intensamente pero la otra cara dice que la chamba y las responsabilidades nos esperan regresando del viaje de como bien dice la canción "después de entrarle a la heroína y cogerse a las estrellas", lo bailado quien lo quita ¿no?

Hoy les comparto música que esta sonando mucho en la radio pero que la catalogo como una de esas canciones que simplemente te ponen de buenas al instante :D.

No se si noten un poco la influencia de Franz Ferdinand en la canción y buena vibra… ¿será por el préstamo del su baterista por un ratito? (chequen SOLO la bateria de -The Dark of the Matinée- :P ) ...o mejor aun, que Eleanor fue el pollo del vocalista… Nhaaaa...

Del álbum “Desireless” de Eagle Eye Cherry, que llego en una etapa increíble de mi vida e inmediatamente se colocó en mis favoritos de toda mi selección musical. 

De cuando se tenía que ir físicamente a la tienda de discos (cruzando toda la ciudad), el celular era un lujo (morías por que tuviera una cámara vga), y el discman rifaba como tu mejor amigo…

Yo no voy a ningún lado

Justo cuando pasaba por esta canción, pase por unas paginas de motociclismo que la usaban como fondo para un video. Gran cancion.
Unas cervecitas, una vueltecita en dos ruedas y la rola hacen un gran viernes.
La grabación en 8 pistas y la falta de uso de postproducción, asi como la notoria intencion de grabar todo en una sola toma, le dan un toque de garage y frescura. Como si tocaran en vivo.

Empezamos con nuestra primera "Our Day Song" de este blog.

Del "Dark Night Of The Soul" (gran disco) la canción del día de hoy es:

Tuve la oportunidad de acercarme a este disco por dos principales razones:

a) La participación del director de cine David Lynch  en él

y

b) Por que ultimamente me ha llamado mucho la atención en lo que esta trabajando Danger Mouse (que obtuvo mis grandes grandes respetos por la producción del disco "Demon Days" de Gorillaz y el fabuloso "St. Elsewhere" con Gnarls Barkley)
